About the event
The Consolidated Community School District 90 board of education will hold a hearing to take public comments on a planned bond issue. The planned bond sales are for up to $18.5 million to be added to the districts working cash fund. The District 90 Superintendent has briefed the board on an extensive list of minor and major repair/construction projects for the district's 7 school buildings and grounds for which the funds are intended. However, the District has the latitude to obligate the funds for other wants/needs once acquired.
The full $18.5 million bond issue will result in a $30 million debt to be repaid by your property taxes over the next 16 years resulting in a probable property tax increase.
The public will be granted up to 3 minutes per person to make comments to the board during the hearing regarding the bond issue. Please attend and let your opinion be heard.
Sign a petition to place the bond referendum on the November 2024 ballot for voter approval.
